Neighbors say the project will be a “lifeline” for the community.
From Nina Moske at the Tampa Bay Times:
The Tampa City Council approved $3.5 million to support Urban ReWorx’s 20-unit affordable housing project in East Tampa, marking a significant step toward revitalizing an area long affected by poverty and neglect. Urban ReWorx, a Tampa-based developer, has committed to creating quality, attainable housing that meets critical community needs and aligns with the city’s broader goals for economic development and neighborhood renewal. Despite receiving less than their original funding request, the project has gained strong support from local leaders and advocates who see it as a promising and much-needed investment in East Tampa’s future.
